【摘要】:Thisdocumentprovidesguidelinesfortheapplicationofautomaticfiredetectionandfirealarmsystemsinandaroundbuildings.TheTechnicalSpecificationcoversplanning,design,installation,commissioning,useandmaintenanceofthesystems.Theguidelinescoversystemsintendedfortheprotectionoflifeand/ortheprotectionofproperty.Theguidelinescoversystemswithatleastonefiredetector.Thesystemsmaybecapableofprovidingsignalstoinitiate,intheeventofafire,theoperationofancillaryequipment(suchasfixedfireextinguishingsystems)andotherprecautionsandactions(suchasmachineryshutdown),buttheguidelinesdonotcovertheancillaryservicesthemselves.Theguidelinesdonotcoversystemscombiningfirealarmfunctionswithothernon-firerelatedfunctions.Theguidelinesdonotrecommendwhetherornotanautomaticfiredetectionand/orfirealarmsystemshouldbeinstalledinanygivenpremises.IthasbeenassumedinthedraftingofthisPartofEN54thattheexecutionofitsprovisionswillbeentrustedtoappropriatelycompetentpersons.However,guidanceisalsogiventootherpersonspurchasingorusingafiredetectionorfirealarmsystem.
