【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesadescriptionofthebehaviorofmaterialspecimensunderaspecifiedfireexposureintermsofthereleaserateofheatandvisiblesmoke.Itispossibletodeterminethechangeinbehaviorofmaterialsandproductswithchangeinheat-fluxexposurebytestingspecimensinaseriesofexposuresthatcoverarangeofheatfluxes.Thedataobtainedforaspecifictestdescribetherateofheatandsmokereleaseofthespecimenwhenexposedtothespecificenvironmentalconditionsandproceduresusedinperformingthattest.Theentireexposedsurfaceofthespecimenwillnotbeburningduringtheprogressiveinvolvementphasewhenpiloted,pointignition(impingement)proceduresareused.Duringtheperiodofprogressivesurfaceinvolvement,releaseratesofheatandsmokearex201C;persquaremetreoforiginalexposedsurfaceareax201D;notx201C;persquaremetreofflameinvolvedsurface.x201D;Theratesofbothheatandsmokereleasearecalculatedpersquaremetreoforiginalsurfaceareaexposed.Ifaspecimenswells,sags,delaminates,orotherwisedeformssothattheexposedsurfaceareachanges,calculatedreleas1.1Thistestmethodprovidesfordeterminingthereleaseratesofheatandvisiblesmoke(Note1)frommaterials,products,orassemblieswhenexposedtodifferentlevelsofradiantheat.Note18212;Visiblesmokeisdescribedintermsoftheobscurationoftransmittedlightcausedbycombustionproductsreleasedduringthetests(see14.2.1).1.2Thisfire-test-responsemethodassessesheatreleasebyathermalmethod,thermopile,usingaradiantheatsourcecomposedofanarrayoffourelectricalresistanceelements.1.3Thistestmethodprovidesforradiantthermalexposureofaspecimenbothwithandwithoutapilot.Pilotedignitionresultsfromdirectflameimpingementonthespecimen(piloted,pointignition)orfromuseofthepilottoignitegasesevolvedbypyrolysisofthespecimen.1.4Heatandsmokereleasearemeasuredfromthemomentthespecimenisinjectedintoacontrolledexposurechamber.Themeasurementsarecontinuedduringtheperiodofignition(andprogressiveflameinvolvementofthesurfaceinthecaseofpointignition),andtosuchatimethatthetestisterminated.1.5TheapparatusdescribedinthistestmethodisoftenreferredtoastheOhioStateUniversity(OSU)rateofheatreleaseap
