【摘要】:ISO18934:2006providessuggestedguidelinesforfourstoragemacroenvironmentsforarchivesthatcontainavarietyofrecordingmedia,basedonthecorrespondingISOstoragestandardsforthosemedia.Wheneverpossible,itisadvisabletofollowthestorageenvironmentsintheISOstoragestandards.ISO18934:2006doesnotreplacetheseISOstoragestandards.Inadditiontoenvironmentrecommendations,thosestandardsalsoincludeothervitalinformationpertinentforthelong-termkeepingofrecordingmaterialssuchasinspection,housing,andhandlingguidelines.Althoughmicroenvironmentswithinastorageenclosurecanbedependentuponthemacroenvironment,theyarenotthefocusofISO18934:2006.ThestorageoftraditionalpapercollectionsisnotwithinthescopeofISO18934:2006.However,manyarchivescontainingmixedrecordingmediaalsoincludesuchcollections.Archivistsareencouragedtoreviewtheappropriatestandardsforthosematerials.NitratebasephotographicfilmsarealsoincludedinISO18934:2006sincetheyareoftenstoredtogetherwithothermaterialsinspiteofthefactthatnitratefilmsrepresentafirehazardandtheyneedtobestoredinaccordancewiththeNationalFireProtectionAssociationstandardintheUnitedStates,orotherapplicablenationalstandards.Moreover,fumesfromdecomposingnitratefilmandacetate-basefilmcanhaveverydetrimentaleffectsonothermaterialsstoredinthesamearea.Itisnecessarytoisolatesuchfilmsinaseparatestoragearea.
